We are Dillinger. We are Saarstahl. We are the SHS Group.
We work in partnership to achieve extraordinary things, and our steel is building the infrastructure of the future.
Our steel has long been a key component of the energy and mobility transition, and it can be found in offshore wind turbines, solar parks, pumped storage facilities, railroad tracks, and electric cars. More than 80 wind farms in Europe, Asia, and America are built on steel foundations from Dillinger. Thermomechanically rolled spring steel from Saarstahl cuts weight in vehicle construction by up to 20 percent, resulting in lower fuel consumption and emissions.
We are eager to achieve change.
With our strong commitment and capacity for innovation, we create unique solutions for our customers.
Our high level of commitment and innovative spirit is what we’re known for. Our steel has stood for high quality for centuries, and it will continue to do so in the future, in the new, hydrogen-based production process. We are ensuring this with intensive research, the best equipment, and the expertise of our specialists. Pure quality, but carbon neutral – that’s what Pure Steel+ stands for.
We are here.
TFor the people we work with, for the region we live in, and for a sustainable world.
As one of the largest steel manufacturers in Germany as well as large employer, we are committed to our business sites and acknowledge our responsibility to future generations. Our investments will serve to protect the climate and environment, our locations and jobs, and will boost purchasing power, value creation and investment at our sites. The goals of climate policy can only be achieved with the steel industry and its products.
We have the green future firmly in our sights.
Steel production in Saarland is becoming climate neutral.
Our aim: carbon neutrality by 2045. As part of the Power4Steel initiative, we’re focusing on using hydrogen, on electric steel production, and on recycling steel scrap. Construction began in 2023 on a direct reduction plant (DRI) and on one electric arc furnace (EAF) each in Dillingen and Völklingen. Production of 3.5 million tons of carbon-reduced products per year is slated to begin in 2027/28. We want to cut carbon emissions by 55 percent by 2030 – that’s 4.9 million tons per year. This means that 70 percent of our production volume will be produced with carbon-reduced methods.
We are the future.
We work profitably and are successful together with our partners.
